- Description
- NASA/KSC plans to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for MSBLS Flight Inspection TILS II Receivers and Radio Frequency (RF)/Distance Measuring Equipment (DME) assembly. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). NASA/KSC intends to purchase the items from Telephonics Corporation because they are the only known responsible source. No other type of supplies or services will satisfy the requirements and compatibility with the existing Shuttle MSBLS System. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. Eastern time on June 28, 2002. Interested firms other than the sole source cited shall submit in writing to the identified point of contact, their qualifications/capabilities and quotes, providing a description in sufficient detail to show that the product offered meets the Government's requirement. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. An Ombudsman has been appointed.
