Description
The Marine Corps Systems Command intends to award a sole source contract to General Dynamics C4 Systems to provide 1 year of Tactical Data Network, Data Distribution System training and field service representative support commencing 1 October, 2002. General Dynamics C4 Systems designed and manufactured the Technical Data Network . There is a requirement for up to ten (10) classes per CONUS geographic region shall be provided. Two instructors/FSRs shall be required at each location. Training shall consist of both classroom and short duration impromptu hands-on training in areas not covered in the formal schools where units are experiencing shortfalls. Operations, training and exercise support shall be provided when classroom training is not being conducted. Classroom training shall be no less than 19 days of classroom and hands-on training, including Tactical Data Network, Data Distribution System fundamentals, to provide future Tactical Data Network server specialists with the knowledge and skills needed to operate and perform organizational level maintenance on the Tactical Data Network Server. This is a continuation of existing new equipment training currently being conducted by General Dynamics C4 Systems. Classroom size will be a maximum of 25 students. When classroom instruction is not being conducted, technical support to field units may require the support teams to support split sites and/or split shifts to accommodate exercises, operations or training requirements by the Operating Forces. There will be an option for a training/field service representative team to conduct 2 OCONUS classes (1 in Hawaii, and 1 in Okinawa). The contractor shall responsible for providing qualified subject matter expertise on the Tactical Data Network.
