Description
This is not a solicitation. This is a Sources Sought synopsis only. The purpose of this synopsis is to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources and their size classification (HubZone 8(a), 8(a), Small, Small disadvantaged and Large Business) relative to NAICS Code 541310, small business size standard classification of $4,000,000. Responses to this sources sought synopsis will be used by the government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. After review of the responses to this announcement a solicitation announcement will be published in the CBD if necessary. Responses to the announcement are not adequate responses. All interested offerors will have to respond to the solicitation announcement, in addition to responding to this Sources Sought announcement. The VA Mid-Atlantic Healthcare Network (VISN 6) is seeking sources for a potential contract for an Architect/Engineer (A/E) to provide design services for the implementation of two central kitchens, utilizing tumble and blast chill technology, at the Hampton, Virginia and the Salisbury, North Carolina VA Medical Centers. Hampton VAMC will be the central kitchen for three medical centers in Virginia/West Virginia and Salisbury VAMC will be the central kitchen for three medical centers in North Carolina. A/E to design layout of the new kitchens within existing kitchen space. Design will include phasing schedule to maintain minimal kitchen operations during construction. Most equipment will be VA furnished/contractor installed. Design will include all utility work including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing for installation of new equipment. Estimated construction cost for equipment site prep, construction, and HVAC work is in the $300,000 to $700,000 range at each medical center.
