Description

Note 22 applies. The Federal Highway Administration, Eastern Federal Lands Highway Division (EFLHD) intends to enter into a conract with Paxton-Mitchell Company, manufacturer of the existing Under Bridge Inspection Vehicle (UBIV). An upgrade of the current chassis of the UBIV crew cab is required. In addition, the Snooper portion of the vehicle needs to be disassembled, inspected and recertified for use. Paxton-Mitchell Company is the manufacturer of the Snooper and is the only firm authorized to inspect and recertify the equipment. The process involves removal of the Snooper from the existing chassis, disassembly and inspection of the equipment, then remounting the equipment on the upgraded chassis. The inspection and recertification of this equipment and upgrading of the chassis is required to insure the safety of the inspection crew. The estimated dollar value of this acquisition is $150,000. Exception to Note 22: the Government will consider proposals received within 14 days after date of publication of this synopsis.
