Description

The Defense Distribution Center Susquehanna Site (DDSP)located in New Cumberland, PA has a requirement for an Active Item Expansion. The specification defines the necessary services, labor, material, equipment and control components required to install and make operable a mechanized active item pallet flow rack system to store and pick material. The system shall consist of three level high pallet flow racks with belt conveyors, mezzanines, lighting, and interfaces to route material from mezzanine to floor level and vice versa and on to new conveyor runs that go to an existing AWOS area and an existing CCP sorter. Also included are accumulation and transportation conveyors, trash chutes, stairs, workstations, and in-rack sprinkler system. Options include the installation of an in-rack sprinkler system for the pallet rack area and the removal modification, and provision of equipment for a light pack area. Contract award will be made using Best Value Procedures. A written solicitation will be issued on or about 05 JUL 2002 and processed for award. A pre-proposal conference/site visit will be scheduled 10 to 14 days following the issue date of the Request for Proposal. All responsible contractors may request a copy of the solicitation.
