- The Air Force, Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada intends to award a Sole Source purchase order to the CRI Division of RSI, Inc., Austin TX. This Sole Source purchase will be to ruggedize SGI workstations, integrated into transit cases for planning systems. R875i rugged Rack Mount Octane or Octane2 with two each 18 GB SCSI Option drives in Kingston Hot Swap receivers (Octane to be supplied by government). CRI is the only known SGI authorized federal systems integrator for repackaging and ruggedizing SGI hardware. NAICS for this acquisition is 334119 with a small business size standard of 500 employees. This is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all interested parties who believe they can meet the requirements are invited to identify their small business size status and submit in writing complete information describing their ability to provide the requirement. Information received as a result of this notice will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Air Force not to open the requirement to open competition, based on response to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Air Force. If the office has not received any affirmative written responses by Close of Business (COB), 25 June 2002, a Sole Source purchase order will be pursued as specified above. This is a simplified acquisition with an estimated value of less than $100,000.
