Height (803) 895-6001, or Contracting Officer, Randall E. May, (803) 895-6828 DESC: MARKET RESEARCH: This publication is a sources sought synopsis, which will be utilized as a market research tool. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED, PLEASE RESPOND TO THIS INQUIRY BEFORE CLOSE OF BUSINESS 24 June 2002. The Government may have a need to purchase 36 inches length, nonmetallic 3 channel size cable protectors to safeguard electrical cables (3.25 inches or 82.6 mm in diameter) and cords from vehicle and pedestrian traffic. The protectors must interconnect to protect cables of any length. The protectors must provide safe traction in temperatures from -40 to +120 degrees Fahrenheit. The protectors must support a maximum weight of 14,210 lbs at 21 degrees Celsius and 4,653 lbs at 48 degrees Celsius. The cable protectors must be resistance to the weather conditions of Southeast Asia (i.e., wind, sand, extreme heat, ect). Contractor will provide hinge material specifications. Protectors will meet safety requirements per ANSI. Z535.3-1991. The purpose of this notice is to identify and establish initial interest and points of contact from private industry. It may also help to identify/establish commercial practices available to the Government. Any responses to this notice should include the following: Company Name, Point of Contact, Address, Telephone and Fax Numbers, E-Mail address, Brief Description of Company/Capabilities, Experience Areas, Size, History, Duns Number, Cage Code and/or Tax ID Number, and Large/Small Business Category. Include any suggestions on what your firm would consider standard commercial practices. Provide any supporting information such as commercial literature, catalogues, manuals, etc. Participation in this effort is strictly voluntary with no cost or obligation to be incurred by the U.S. Government. The U.S. Government will in no way be obligated to purchase the item described above, and is providing this information as "general" information only.
