- Description
- NASA/ARC plans to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for a raman microscope sampling handling accessory. This equipment is required to conduct various experiments in the Ames Research Center nanotechnology lab. This microscope sample handling accessory must have the following capabilities: (1) Fully integrated WiRE control software package for automated control (2) Temperature range-196 Degrees to 600 Degrees Celsius (3) 100ohm resistor sensor (4) Temperature response between 0 and 2 seconds (5) Direct injection of the coolant into the silver block (6) 16 mm X,Y sample manipulators (7) Sample side loading without removing stage lid (8) Clamps directly to the microscope for stability (9) Light aperture (10) Single ultra thin lid window (11) Sample area 22mm (12) High thermal conductivity silver block for fast response and cooling (13) Temperature stability and sensor accuracy (14) Gas tight chamber for atmospheric control. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). NASA/ARC intends to purchase the items from Renishaw Inc. of Hoffman Estates, IL under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) or 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1), only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirments. *** The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on June 13, 2002. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. An Ombudsman has been appointed.
