Description
NA The US Army Robert Morris Acquisition Center-Natick Contracting Division, Natick, MA, in support of the U.S. Army Soldier and Biological Chemical Command, Soldier Systems Center, intends to conduct negotiations and award a purchase order to Gentex Corporat ion, PO Box 315, Carbondale, PA 18407 on the basis of other than full and open competition in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 6.302. A Firm Fixed Price purchase order is anticipated. The proposed action is for minimum of 3 and m aximum of 18 Isolitters for use in continuing biological warfare testing. Minimum requirements for the Isolitter are: provides biological and chemical warfare agent protection (liquid, vapor, and aerosol challenges) to the interior in a contaminated envir onment and to the exterior from a contaminated patient. Must include 6 glove ports, a medical equipment pass-through, IV line and entubation tube portal, electrical connector to function with ProPak monitor system. The Isolitter must have the strength to carry approx 225 lb, windows, include inner restraints, supportive frame stays, and come in a camouflage exterior color with white or light colored inner floor material. Must be able to maintain airflow to a patient's respirator. Response must show evid ence of protective capabilities for biological and chemical threats and that these items have been produced. The Contractor manufacturers a product with the unique combination of design features that are already known to be operationally suitable. Inter ested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, the Government will consider all proposals received within five days after date of publica tion of this synopsis. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of d etermining whether to conduct a future competitive procurement.
