Description
The VA National Acquisition Center will issue RFP 797-NC-02-0033 for the Department of Veterans Affairs? (VA) and Department of Defense?s (DoD) requirements for Lovastatin 10mg, 20mg and 40mg tablets, with an estimated annual usage of 69,443 bottles of 10mg in bottles of 60 each, 16,525 bottles of 20mg in bottles of 60 each, 15,796 bottles of 20mg in bottles of 500 each OR 7,898 bottles of 20mg in bottles of 1000 each (where there is a choice of package size as indicated by the word ?or?, the offeror must submit a price on at least one of the two sizes indicated and award will me made on the package size most advantageous to the Government), 13,227 bottles of 40mg in bottles of 60 each and 25,920 bottles of 40mg in bottles of 500 each OR 12,960 bottles of 40mg in bottles of 1000 each. The estimated quantities listed above are for VA and DoD, however, estimated quantities for Indian Health Services and the Bureau of Prisons may be added to the solicitation later. The contract period will be for one year plus four one-year option periods. The contract items will be distributed through the VA and DoD Pharmaceutical Prime Vendors (PPV). Tablets must be compatible with automatic dispensing units (Baxter ATC Canisters, Optifil, etc.) and if offeror is not a manufacturer, a signed agreement between the offeror and the manufacturer must be submitted with offer and remain in effect for the duration of the contract period including option years. Glass bottles are not acceptable, and all bottles of 100 tablets or less must have a child resistant closure. The solicitation will be available for downloading, on or about the issue date of June 19, 2002 from the VA Office of Acquisition and Material Management?s (O&AMM) internet web site at http://www.va.gov/o&amm/busopp/sols.htm.
