- Description
- The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis, under authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), with Bruel & Kjaer North America Inc., of Norcross, GA, for acquisition of a Reciprocity Calibration Apparatus System that will be used by NIST's Manufacturing Engineering Laboratory in combination with other NIST equipment to enable improved accuracy of microphone pressure calibration, especially for smaller microphones (IEC type LS2P).*****The equipment being acquired will replace certain critical components of NIST's existing system. Sole source determination is based on the need for compatibility with existing components and procedures, including (but not limited to) standard microphones, preamplifiers, couplers, and methods described in IEC Standards 1094-1 and 1094-2. The stated vendor is also thoroughly familiar with these components and methods based on these IEC Standards.*****Delivery shall be FOB Destination, Gaithersburg, MD, and is required within 30 days or less after receipt of purchase order (ARO).*****The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 334516, and the size standard is 500 Employees.*****No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations. However, responses received by June 17, 2002, will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.*****
