Description
THIS PROCUREMENT IS A SMALL BUSINESS SET-ASIDE. The U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) has a requirement to procure Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) Medium Intensity Light Emitting Diode (LED) Buoy Lanterns that meet the requirements of the USCG Specifications. These specifications will be included in the solicitation. The lanterns will be used to expand the field test of replacements for the 3 and 4 nautical mile 155mm lanterns presently used. The solicitation will be for a total of 400 lanterns. Multiple awards are anticipated. If more than one award is made, the quantity of 400 lanterns will be split among the contracts. Production units are to be delivered 120 days after award. The USCG anticipates awarding a firm-fixed price contract with a period of performance extending 120 days after award. The NAICS code is 334413 and the small business size standard is 500 employees. It is anticipated that the solicitation (RFP) will be available on or around 29 March 2002 with proposals due fifteen (15) days after issuance of the RFP. For Minority, Women-Owned, and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU) has a program to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged enterprises to acquire short term working capital assistance for transportation-related contracts. Loans are available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000.
