Description
The U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) has a partial Small Business Set Aside requirement to procure a standard small boat (Response Boat--Small (RB-S)) to be used to provide multi-mission stations and selected marine safety units, to include the new Maritime Safety and Security Units (MSSTs) with a suitable standardized replacement vessel. This boat must be capable of performing the functions of the various nonstandard boats currently in service in the U.S. Coast Guard fleet. This specific replacement capability vessel (RB-S) is one of three basic subsets of vessels. It will constitute the lower capability range of the U.S. Coast Guard's shore-based response system. This contract will allow the Office of Boat Forces the means to provide units a standardized replacement vessel that is fully supported and complements current Motor Lifeboats (MLBs) and envisioned Response Boat--Medium (RB-M). The USCG anticipates awarding an indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity type contract for a period of seven (7) years. The NAICS code is 336612 and the small business size standard is 500 employees. The U.S. Coast Guard intends on issuing a Request for Proposal (RFP) on or about 15 March 2002. To receive a solicitation, interested businesses may download the RFP at http://www.fedbizopps.gov. Proposals will be due thirty (30) days after issuance of the RFP. The primary Point of Contact for this solicitation may be reached at email address jbogden@comdt.uscg.mil. The alternate may be reached at ldearing@comdt.uscg.mil.
