Description
FULL AND OPEN COMPETITIVE PROCUREMENT FOR THE TARGET DETECTING DEVICE (TDD) MK 71 MOD 1. The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) is soliciting proposals for the production of the TDD MK 71 Mod 1. The TDD Mk 71 Mod 1 is a component of an air delivered, underwater mine assembly. The TDD is a multiple influence sensor that uses a Navy-supplied target detection algorithm to determine the presence of a valid target and to generate a firing signal response. It is battery powered and contains target sensors and electronics to determine when the mine detonates. The TDD is highly sweep-resistant and is sized to fit all three QUICKSTRIKE warheads. NAVSEA (SEA 0263) intends to issue a solicitation on or about 28 June 2002 for the competitive procurement for the production of up to a total of 263 TDD MK 71 Mod 1 units. Fifteen (15) of which will be first article units, and up to six (6) additional units will be purchased in the base year. The remaining units will be purchased as follows: thirty-seven (37) units in fiscal year 2004; sixty-five (65) units will be purchased in fiscal year 2005; seventy (70) units will be purchased in fiscal year 2006; and seventy units will be purchased in fiscal year 2007. The Government intends to award one Firm Fixed Price contract with a base year and four (4) one year options. Associated engineering services, priced on a cost reimbursement basis will also be included. A solicitation, numbered N00024-02-R-6319, shall be posted on or about 28 June 2002 on the Federal Business Opportunities Web Page. The solicitation will be available on the Federal Business Opportunities Web Page at http://www.eps.gov It is the responsibility of interested parties to independently review this web page frequently for updates t o any and all documents.
