- Description
- The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) has a requirement for a fully found vessel, operating personnel, facilities, fuel, oil, food and support equipment as specified, to conduct a survey providing a regional framework of the surficial geology and shallow sub-bottom stratigraphy of the near shore area off Northern North Carolina. The objective of this survey is to produce digital maps of sea floor back scatter and bathymetry, and interpretive maps of the sea floor environment with particular applications to coastal erosion studies in cooperative work with the State of North Carolina. Work will be conducted in waters as shallow as 8 meters. The survey will require one cruise. Mobilization will start June 21, 2002 in Morehead City, NC.
