- NA Remove and replace existing stones and fill voids by adding new stones to reduce wave energy transmission through the existing structure on the lakeside of a rubble mound breakwater. The stones will be as large as 10 to 20 tons each and will be placed at Reach 1 for approximately 675 linear feet at the Burns Harbor Breakwater. Approximately 25,000 tons of stone will be placed prior to October 15, 2002. The contract includes an option for a portion of reach 4, approximately 365 linear feet in length. Lak e depth in the work is approximately 40?. The estimated cost of this project is $1,000,000 to $5,000,000. The approximate issue date is 24 June 2002, with an approximate bid opening date of 25 July 2002. The contract specialist is Kim McKnight at (502) 315-6186.
