Description
THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY. THERE IS NO SOLICITATION AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME. REQUESTS FOR A SOLICITATION WILL NOT RECEIVE A RESPONSE. The Defense Reutilization Marketing Service is conducting a market survey to determine the existence of potential business sources to perform. This is a sources sought for companies with the capability to perform scrap metal management services. The potential services to be performed include collection, transportation, ocean transportation, recycling, and disposal of scrap and recyclable material in an environmentally responsible and compliant manner. This does not involve disposal of hazardous materials or hazardous waste. (The standard industrial classification (sic) code is 421930 with a size standard of 100 employees.) Estimated generations are approximately 1,140,000 pounds per 18-month period. Interested and qualified sources are requested to provide a statement of current capability and past performance information. Sources must demonstrate management, ocean transportation, and technical experience on similar acquisitions, specifically addressing the requirements specified in this synopsis, and demonstrate the ability to obtain the resources necessary to successfully compete for this requirement. Interested and qualified sources are requested to provide the following information: (1) company name, point of contact, e-mail address, telephone and facsimile numbers, and type and business size, (2) a list of your most recent and relevant DoD or commercial contracts (not to exceed five) to include names, points of contact, phone numbers, value and type of contract, period of performance, and brief description, (3) information telling us about your company and why you think you can perform this contract, (4) information describing works tasks and percentages proposed to be performed by you and subcontractors for this requirement. Interested business sources should provide the experience they have in performing this type contract: management of this type contract, ocean transportation, and experience in performing the requirements. Interested sources should provide this information within 15 days of publication of this notice. A letter of interest should also be included and address the following: 1) name and address of the firm 2) size of business including annual revenue for NAICS code and annual revenue for entire business and total number of employees 3) ownership 4) year firm established 5) names of two principals to contact, including title and telephone number 6) previous experience. Please include pertinent information for on-going contracts or contracts completed within the last five years under NAICS code 421930. Pertinent information is a. Name of contracting activity b. Contract type (FFP, cost, IDIQ or combination) d. Period of performance and total contract value e. Summary of contract work f. Contracting officer name and current telephone number) h. List of major subcontractors including name, address, and telephone number of primary point of contact. This synopsis is for informational and planning purposes only. The Government will not reimburse respondents for any cost associated with submission of capability statements in connection with this market survey. Respondents will not be contacted regarding their submission or information gathered as a result of this notice. The Government reserves the right to consider a small business set-aside based upon the responses received. Any information provided is voluntary. All information submitted is at the offeror's own expense. The Government will not pay for any information that is submitted in response to this SOURCES SOUGHT synopsis.
