- Description
- The Broadcasting Board of Governors/ International Broadcasting Bureau (BBG/IBB), Office of Contracts, Simplified Acquisition Branch (M/CON/SA) intends to award a Purchase Order (Contract) on a sole source basis with UPMACS Communications Inc., 875 Selkirk Street, Pointe Claire, Quebec H9R 3S2. The statutory authority permitting other than full and open competition that is applicable to this procurement is 41 U.S.C. 253 (c) (1), Only one source and no other supplies or services would satisfy the Agency requirement. UPMACS Communications is the manufacturer of the below equipment. This equipment has been fabricated and designed to meet the Agency's specifications needed to ensure efficient monitoring operations of the Agency's uplink and downlink systems. The following contract line items will be procured: Item 1. 7" Rack Mount switch controller unit w/documentation and 1 year warranty; Quantity: 3 each; Item 2. 7" Rack Mount Switch Panel with 14 RF transfer switches, 50 ohm termination, switch interconnect cables, 2 RF panel interface cables, 1 year warranty; Quantity: 3 each. This Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive price quotations. Interested firms or persons, may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement. The Government must receive all such price quotations by close of business 4 PM EST, Wednesday, June 12, 2002 to be considered. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed purchase order (contract) based upon responses to this Notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Any information received from interested firms/persons responding to this notice will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
