- Description
- This project is for the construction of a new, single story, 53,000 square foot laboratory building to be erected at the Jamie Whitten Delta State Research Center in Stoneville, Mississippi. The building will include BL-1 and BL-2 laboratory space, multi-species insect rearing space, offices, space to conduct research in the field of beneficial organisms already approved for release to the environment, and mechanical space. This project will include: site work, architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, building systems, computer based controls, and communications, both telephone and digital. The estimated price range is between $ 9 million and $13 million. The completion time is estimated to be 15 months. It is planned that this procurement will be conducted on an unrestricted basis in accordance with the Small Business Competitive Demonstration Program and under sealed bidding procedures. Large Business firms will be required to submit a subcontracting plan with goals for small, small disadvantaged, woman-owned small, HUBZone small, and service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses. A bid bond and Miller Act Performance and Payment Bonds will be required. On or about March 25, 2002, Plans and Specifications will be available for viewing at local plan rooms and available for purchase at the designer's office for a non-refundable fee of $75. Bid opening will be on May 02, 2002, at 3:30 p.m. local time in Stoneville, MS. A single pre-bid conference and site visit was conducted approximately mid-way thru the bidding period.
