Description

The project involves construction at several sites on the Mountaintop District of the San Bernardino National Forest, in the Big Bear Basin. At Woodland Trailhead the parking area will be reconstructed as well as the installation of a single vault toilet. At Cougar Crest the parking will be resurfaced and restriped and a single unit vault toilet will be installed. At Aspen Glen, the parking area will be resurfaced along with accessible sidewalks to the existing restroom facility. The Pineknot Trailhead at this same site will have bulleting boards and directional signs installed. The remaining trail sites, The Gold Fever Trail, Champion Lodgepole Pine Trailhead and the Castle Rock Trailhead will all have signage and/or bulletin boards installed. Anticipated day of uploading will be on or about April 8 and a closing date for receipt of proposals on or about May 15, 2002, close of business. Estimated cost range of project is $250,000 to $500,000. Estimated start work will be on or about September, 2002.
