- Description
- The United States Postal Service intends to award a Fixed Price contract for the construction of a new Main Post Office in Fairfax, Virginia. The construction estimates for this project are in the range of $9,500,000 to $10,500,000. The scope of work for this project includes construction of a new 34,544+/- gross square foot new Post Office with a multistory parking structure on a 3.2+/- acre site located in Fairfax, Virginia. The project includes but is not limited to the following; retail space, administrative offices, workroom, truck docks and associated parking. All areas described are approximate; exact areas are denoted on plans and specifications to be issued with the Postal Service?s request for proposal. The total period for construction of the project will be 480 days from the date indicated on the Notice to Proceed. Contract award is contingent upon the Postal Service Board of Governors approval. The subcontracting goals for this project are: Minority Business Enterprise of 12%, Women Owned Business of 7%, and Small Business Enterprise of 40%. Only the following prequalified firms are invited to submit proposals for this solicitation: (1). Donohoe Construction Co., 2101 Wisconsin Avenue, N. W., Washington, DC 20007, Attention: Steven J. Donohoe, Sr. V. P., Phone 202-333-0880, Fax 202-342-3924; (3). Tompkins Builders, 1333 H Street N. W., Suite 200, Washington, DC 20005, Attention: George Kreis, Phone 202-789-0770, Fax 202-898-2531. The above listed contractors have been furnished copies of the solicitation. Interested subcontractors and suppliers may purchase the solicitation documents at a cost of $100.00 per set (non-refundable). This is not a public procurement and proposals will not be publicly opened.
