Description: The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to add eight each Engineering Project Descriptions (EPDS) as option line items to the existing FY02 Component Improvement Program (CIP) Contract with Rolls Royce in support of the F405 engine. The option line items may be exercised from the date of award through 30 September 2002. If exercised, the contractor shall provide engineering and supporting services to conduct CIP project descriptions as follows: Module 01 Anti Fret Coating, Module 02 Anti Fret Coating, High Pressure Compressor Vane Coating to Achieve 4000 Hours Assembly, 4000 Hour Hot End Improvement Sensitivity Study, In Service Performance Effects, Fuel System Improvement, Corrosion Coatings for Module 3,10, and 11, and Corrosion Coatings for Module 7 and 9. NAVAIR anticipates award of a modification to the existing cost-plus fixed fee contract with Rolls Royce Plc., PO Box 3 Filton, Bristol BS34 7QE, England. See Note 22.
