- NA The Army Research Laboratory (ARL) intends to solicit on a sole source basis from Oxford Instruments 130A Baker Avenue Extension, Concord, MA 01742 to upgrade of a Microspec WDX 3PC Wavelength Dispersive X-Ray analysis system to a INCA WAVE Wavelength Disp ersive X-Ray analysis system. The INCA Wave system shall allow for the determination of the presence or absence of elements at a user defined significant level. The INCA Wave capability shall provide for full quantitative analysis, the acquisition of WDX spectra over user defined wave length or energy ranges. The system shall display and monitor all operating parameters in real time, shall acquire digital maps and lines scan and display them on the SEM monitor. The system shall control all set-up parameters, measure beam current and c ompensate quantitative analysis for beam current changes and feature fully automated detector calibration. The spectrometer control unit shall feature 400 Mbit IEEE 1394 serial communication, motor drives for wavelength position, slit size, slit position , crystal selection and gate valve control. It shall include fully automatic detector calibration, a multi-channel analyzer for pulse height distribution, analyzer gain programmable from 1X to at least 127 X, a single channel analyzer with programmable co ntrol of the lower level and window voltages from 0 to 9.99V in 0.01 steps, a rate meter, counter and timer, a specimen current meter for the measurement of absorbed current from 0,01na to 1000na and a front panel indicator for communication and system sta tus. All responsible sources may submit a proposal, which will be considered by the agency. No telephone requests will be honored. See numbered note 22.
