- Description
- The Defense Reutilization and Marketing Service International requires a service contract for a variety of Hazardous Waste (HW) management functions (e.g. inspecting, proper identification, packaging, loading, removal, transportation, unloading, storage (if permissible), and disposal/recycling of Polychlorinated Biphenyl/Polychlorinated Triphenyl (PCB) hazardous wastes from various military installations in South Korea. Additional services include chemical sampling and analysis, waste profiling, waste segregation and packaging, preparation of waste turn-in documentation, and the repackaging of any property not suitable for transportation. Waste must be disposed of in a country which is a signatory to the Basel Convention. SP4420-02-R-0007 will be issued on or about 01 July 2002. Approximate closing date is 15 August 2001. This solicitation will result in a requirements type contract being awarded to one contractor. This contract will have an 18 month base period and two 18 month option periods. Performance will be requested by issuance of written delivery orders against the basic contract. Qualifications: prospective contractors or subcontractors must be able to meet U.S. and local environmental laws and regulations, as well as any applicable international agreements governing the transport, handling, storage and disposal of hazardous wastes. International and South Korean regulations shall apply to the transboundary movement of wastes from one country to another. The contractor shall comply with the May 1989 Basel Convention on the control of transboundary movements of hazardous waste and their disposal. These standards apply not only to the country in which the waste is generated and disposed but also any transient countries through which the waste is transported, including the United States of America. The final contract award decision will be based on a combination of price and other factors described in the solicitation. No telephone requests for the solicitation package will be accepted.
