Description
The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) is requesting quotations from vendors for a Dynamelt Adhesive Supply System, Model #S22 or equivalent, to be used in Currency Moneyband and Straps Manufacturing. All submitted proposals must meet the following salient characteristics in order to be considered for award: I. Hopper - 1) teflon or similarly coated hopper capable of holding a minimum of 40 lbs. of glue chips; 2) 240 volt, 2 - hose/head capable; 3) melt rate of 5 to 80 lbs. per hour; 4) non-heated holding area; 5) digital temperature control; 6) hopper lid; 7) adhesive pressure relief safety valve; 8) digital temperature displays for all zones; II. Supply Hoses and Applicators - 1) two 8-foot minimum, delivery hoses with all necessary elbows and fitting; 2) adhesive applicators with steel shoes and individual flow on/off control; 3) all mounting hardware, installation and instruction; 4) two in-line analog, adhesive pressure gauges; 5) individual temperature controls for each application head and each hose. III. System - 1) the system must be capable of applying two, 1 inch bands of 'hot melt' glue at a consistent thickness and at a range of between .0005 inches to .0009 inches, to a continuous web of paper moving at a speed of up to 500 feet per minute; 2) the two applicators must be horizontal settings across a web of paper up to 32 inches wide; 3) the applicators shall also be capable of individual adjustments to the substrate surface; 4) the system must also be semi-portable so that it can be moved to various equipment with a minimum loss of productivity. The simplified acquisition procedures set forth in FAR Parts 12 and 13 shall be used. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation. This notice constitutes the only solicitation; therefore, a written request for quotation will not be issued. The Request for Quotation (RFQ) number is RFQ-27-02-018a. The total quantity is 1 each. Delivery terms are F.O.B Destination to the BEP Loading Dock at D Street, Between 13th and 14th Sts., S.W. Washington, D.C. Delivery is requested within 20 days after receipt of order. The resulting purchase order shall be firm fixed price. The basis for award shall be best value: technical superiority, past performance, and price. All interested small businesses are requested to submit a written quotation, which will be considered by the agency. Quotations may be submitted on a SF 1449 or on company letterhead. Quotations shall include the RFQ number, the proposed unit price, the proposed extended price, any prompt payment discount terms, company name, point of contact, address, phone number, fax number, tax identification number, DUNS number, and size status (i.e., small business, disadvantaged business or woman owned business). Vendors shall provide technical description of the equipment they are offering and provide literature and/or information in sufficient detail for the Government to determine technical acceptability with all of the salient characteristics listed herein. Vendors shall also provide the name and phone number of at least three references of customers you have sold the same or similar equipment to within the last three years. All quotes shall confirm the company's ability to meet delivery within 20 days ARO, or propose an alternate delivery schedule. If this item is available under GSA Schedule please provide the schedule number.
