- Description
- Notice of intent to negotiate a sole source contract with the Makah Tribal Council (MTC) for the National Marine Mammal Lab (NMML). Purpose of proposed contract is to provide qualified fisheries technicians as needed to assist NMML in the collection of biological data on marine mammals from tribal fishing operations, tribal marine mammal harvests, tribal sampling programs, and other research activities. The research will be conducted within the MTC's usual and customary fishing grounds. In addition, some of the elements of the proposed work require riding on Makah fishing vessels or working with Makah Tribal employees, and will require Tribal membership or affiliation. Most of the proposed work is being conducted in the Neah Bay area. This is a simplified acquisition with an estimated value of less than $100,000.
