Description

NA This is a notice of intent to sole source the completion of Mag Flyer Testing, in support of the US Navy and United Kingdom (UK), to Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC), San Diego, CA. Current mission requirements call for completion of testing started under DTRA contract DTRA01-00-C-0044 with SAIC, formerly Maxwell Technologies. The DTRA Mag Flyer program supports Nuclear Weapons Effects (NWE) testing for vulnerability of strategic systems. DTRA intends to support current requirements under a new contract vehicle with a 18 month period of performance. The duration of the testing effort shall not exceed 12 months. Additionally, Slow Operation of the Mag Flyer Plate Facility is required for a period not-to-exceed six months. The Slow O peration requirement is required to successfully transition operations to a follow-on provider that will be selected under full and open competition. Interested firms have 15 days from the publication of this synopsis to identify their capabilities in wri ting. This notice of intent is NOT a request for proposal. Qualifications and capabilities will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this bridge procurement on a competitive basis. Responses received after the 15 days or without the required information will be considered nonresponsive to the synopsis. A determination by the Government to not compete this proposed bridge effort on a full and open competitive basis is solely within the discretion of the Government.
