Description
NA The Targets Management Office (TMO) requires information regarding salient characteristics of both pyrotechnic and non-pyrotechnic Battle Field Effect Simulator dispensers used to disperse various types of signatures such as smoke, flash, noise and IR for use on gunnery training ranges. Information being sought includes, but is not limited to, physical dimensions (l, w, h), weight, normal operating voltage, capacity of battle field effect replicator items, is the device programmable to allow dispensing of different effects from one unit, is the device capable of operating at different voltages, and has the device received a safety release for use in military applications. What forms of communication (i.e. RF, hardware, fiber optic, etc.) are currently used to allow actuation of the BES device in response to an external stimulus? The following provision is added to this Request for Information, 52.215-3--Request for Information or Solicitation for Planning Purposes (Oct 1997), (a) The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this solicitation or to otherwise pay for the information solicited except as an allowable cost under other contracts as provided in subsection 31.205-18, Bid and proposal costs, of the Federal Acquisition Regulation. (b) Although 'proposal' and 'offeror' are used in this Request for Information, your response will be treated as information only. It shall not be used as a proposal. (c) This solicitation is issued for the purpose of obtaining information only.
