- Description
- The U.S. Army TACOM-ARDEC, Picatinny Arsenal plans to award a contract under the authority of FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(i), Only One Responsible Source (unsolicited research proposal). The contract may consist of a per-task, incrementally funded cost plus fixed fee Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract for a specific and unique idea utilizing both proprietary data and technology that has been patented by Northrop Grumman: (1) Patent US 6,279,478 Infrared Skewed-Cone Fuze and (2) 5,669,581 Spin-Stabilized Guided Projectile for use in the Full Spectrum Active Protection System (FSAP), and other applications (high value assets). The contract may consist of a per-task, incrementally funded cost plus fixed fee Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract with the initial task to demonstrate an active protection for the Future Combat System (FCS). This procurement action is for a one time buy to complete Advanced Development of the patented and proprietary technology in potential applications, at which time it would become a technology insertion in a larger system. This procurement action is the result of an unsolicited research proposal submitted by Northrop Grumman Corporation, Electronic Systems, 1100 West Hollyvale Street, P.O. Box 296, Azusa, CA 91702.
