Description
The National Cemetery Administration, 811 Vermont Ave., NW, Room 253, Washington, DC 20420, has a requirement to develop approximately 13,200 gravesites for full casket interments in 35 acres at the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO. The work will include but not limited to general construction, upgrade of the entire cemetery water distribution system; upgrade and expansion of cemetery road system, utilities, signage, site furnishings, fencing and landscape plantings; construction of three committal service shelters, a soil storage shed, vehicle wash bay and pesticide storage building; upgrade of electrical and mechanical systems, doors and finishes in maintenance buildings; upgrade mechanical systems and exterior siding of the chapel; demolition of two abandoned buildings containing asbestos and lead paint. Work to be completed within 730 calendar days. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) No. 234990 with a size standard of $28.5 million applies to this procurement. The cost range is between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000. Requests for hard copy solicitation shall be in writing to the Contracting Officer (National Cemetery Administration (402D32), Attn: Robert Capers, 811 Vermont Ave., NW, Washington, DC 20420) and must be accompanied by a refundable deposit of $75. Deposit must be in the form of a certified check, cashier?s check, or money order, made payable to the ?Department of Veterans Affairs.? No telephone requests will be accepted. All requests shall be on company letterhead to include point of contact, physical mailing address, phone number, fax number, e-mail address. Potential bidders are advised that they are responsible for obtaining any amendments to the solicitation, which will only be available on the Business Opportunities website. Bid documents will be issued on or about May 29, 2002. Potential bidders are strongly encouraged to attend the Pre-Bid Conference and Site Visit at the Veterans Affairs Jefferson Barracks Medical Center, St. Louis, MO, scheduled for 10:00 a.m. (EST.) on June 18, 2002. Bid opening will be held in the National Cemetery Administration, Office of Construction Management, Conference Room 239, 811 Vermont Ave., NW, Washington, DC 20420, at 2:00 p.m. (EST.) on June 28, 2002. Electronic and faxed bids will not be accepted.
