- Description
- The Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation's (PBGC) Insurance Operations Division (IOD) seeks a highly qualified Contractor with defined benefit pension plan and auditing expertise to perform auditing services for trusteed plans and non-trusted standard terminations. PBGC intends to award a competitive Labor Hour type contract with a level-of-effort up to 95,000 hours per year for auditing services. The types of audits to be conducted include: (1) Plan Asset Audits, (2) Pension Plan Audits, (3) Source Document Audits, (4) Participant Data Audits, and (5) Standard Termination Audits. For example, Plan Asset Audits will be conducted to value assets such as marketable securities, real property, insurance contracts, unpaid employer contributions and others for which there is no ready market. Other audits such as Participant Data Audits will be conducted to verify and/or reconstruct the individual participant data needed to calculate plan and PBGC guaranteed benefits. Audits to be conducted under this contract will be performed pursuant to existing PBGC regulations, plan documents, and any limitations in Title IV of ERISA. Information regarding PBGC's mission and its programs can be located at its web site: www.pbgc.gov. It is anticipated that the period of performance for the base year will be from October 1, 2002 through September 30, 2003 with four (4) one-year options for renewal. The solicitation document will be distributed through the FedBizOps.gov web site. The site contains downloading instructions. All information concerning this acquisition, including solicitation amendments, will also be distributed through the FedBizOps site. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring the site to assure that they have the most up to date information about this acquisition. Paper copies of this solicitation and any amendments will not be available. The estimated date for release of this solicitation is June 4, 2002. All responsible sources may submit a proposal for consideration by the PBGC.
