Description
17. The U.S. Postal Service is seeking to prequalify contractors for the demolition and installation of new air conditioning equipment, associated pumps and water towers in the Headquarters building located at 475 L'Enfant Plaza, Washington, DC, 20260-6440. To be considered, the primary contractor must provide the following minimum information to describe your experience with the demolition and installation of similar projects of this dollar value, chiller size and installation complexity. The period of performance will be from the projected award date of June 2002 through March 2003. Construction cost is estimated to be between $2,000,000 and $2,500,000. PROJECT EXPERIENCE: 1. Completed similar types of projects with a minimum of five years of demonstrated project experience of similar or greater extent. 2. Provide a list of projects completed within the last five years; which are at least equal in dollar value and complexity to this project. 3. Provide the name and telephone number of the owner and project architect engineer contacts for each of the above projects. QUALIFICATIONS: Contractors will be evaluated based on a point system with the following criteria listed in order of importance: Experience/Past Performance; Organization; Safety Program; Responsibility Verification and Backlog; Bonding Capabilities and Banking. Only the most highly qualified, financially capable contractors will be prequalified and asked to submit a proposal for this project. Contract award will subsequently go to the contractor that provides the Postal Service the best value. When requesting a package reference Solicitation No. 671820-02-A-0006. Prequalification packages are due back to this office by February 27, 2002 at 11:00 AM, and should be mailed of hand delivered to USPS, HQ Facility Services, Room 1P100, 475 L'Enfant Plaza, Washington, DC 20260-6440 to Jim Allen's attention. It is prohibited to pay any fee, commission, percentage, or brokerage fee to any person or firm contingent upon or resulting from award of a contract for this project. No other general notification for this project will be made. Submissions will not be retained or returned.
