Description
PROGRAM OFFICERS: The purpose of this announcement is to correct the classification code for IET-2002-0019. The correct classification code is R. Applicants who have responded to IET-2002-0019 need not reapply. The U.S. Department of the Treasury is seeking administrative and program management staff to serve as program officers for its Washington, DC-based technical assistance program. The persons selected will be hired under personal services contracts. The Office of Technical Assistance provides overseas advisors to 30 countries in five functional areas: enforcement, government debt issuance and management, budget policy, financial institutions policy, and tax policy. Program Officers will provide administrative and project management support for intermittent and overseas resident advisors in one of the functional areas and will provide general support for operations in all areas. The ideal candidate will have a masters degree in international affairs or a relevant subject matter; two to five years of work experience, preferably in United States foreign assistance; project management experience; overseas experience; some foreign language capability; and excellent written and oral communication skills. Budgeting or accounting experience is desirable. US citizenship is required. In accordance with program regulations, starting salaries are negotiable from $38,406 to $72,400 (includes DC-based locality pay), based on demonstrated salary history. These positions are open and continuous until July 31, 2002.
