- Description
- The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS)/Health Resources and Services Administration(HRSA) intends to contract with, on a sole source basis, the National Committee for Quality Assurance(NCQA), Washington, D. C. This contract will be procured in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) Parts 15 and 6.302-1. A one(1) year contract is planned. This contract is a continuation of an effort begun in Fiscal Year 2001. The NCQA is the only possible contractor that has sole access to its proprietary Health Plan Employer Data and Information Set(HEDIS) and Managed Care Organizations/Managed Behavioral Health Organization accreditation surveys. The purpose of this contract is to field test a set of performance measures regarding access to behavioral health care services that can be integrated into accreditation standards and national standards for performance measurement. These measures are critical to the monitoring of access and quality of care regarding behavioral health care services for HRSA-funded provider organizations. The measures on this topic are currently unavailable and therefore this activity would provide new policy tools to assure the availability of quality behavioral health care for patients seen in public provider settings.
