- ***The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Ceramics Division, intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis, under authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), with Williamson Corporation of Concord, Massachusetts, for one (1) Low Temperature Sensor with a three foot Fiber Optic Cable and one (1) High Temperature Sensor with a six foot fiber optic cable. ***Sole source determination is based on the following: Williamson Corporation is the only known manufacturer who can provide commercially available equipment to meet the following specifications: (1) Low temperature capability in a dual wavelength, fiber optic design; (2) Calibration accuracy of 0.25% of reading or 2C; (3) Two selectable output signals with signal options of 4-20mA or 0-20mA; (4) Aim light to pin point the target area; (5) Signal strength (emissivity) and Signal Dilution diagnostics that can be recorded; (6) Interchangeable fiber optics to serve two different applications. ***Delivery shall be FOB Destination, and shall be completed within 4 weeks after receipt of order. ***The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 334513, and the size standard is 500 employees. ***No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations, however, responses received by May 20, 2002 will be considered by the Government. ***A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
