Description
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has a new contractual need to monitor the emergence of resistance to critical antimicrobial drugs among pathogenic organisms. The FDA will meet this objective by the issuance of Task Orders under an Indefinite Quantity, Indefinite Delivery type contract. Each task order will provide FDA with an analysis of surveillance data regarding the emergence of antimicrobial resistant bacteria. The contractor will provide this analysis for a number of pathogen/ antimicrobial drug combinations that the FDA will define over the duration of the contract. The contractor must have access to current as well as historical data. Additional factors that will be considered in awarding the contract are: a) the ability of the contractor to perform analysis by individual patient, b) the ability of the contractor to correlate resistance with drug utilization, c) the breadth of the available data with regard to geography, demographics, types of care facilities, and types of patients (i.e., inpatient vs. outpatient), and d) the ability of the contractor to analyze the relationship between drug utilization and the emergence of antimicrobial resistance in specific diseases (e.g., development of resistance to ciprofloxacin and/or doxycycline in the setting of post-exposure prophylaxis for anthrax). The Request for Proposal (RFP) will only be available on the FedBizOpps web page at http://www.fedbizopps.gov/. Prospective offerors are responsible for downloading the RFP and all attachments. It is the offeror's responsibility to monitor the FedBizOpps web page for the release of the solicitation and amendments. The RFP should be available for downloading on/about fifteen (15) days after publication of this announcement. This requirement will be a full and open competitive requirement. The FDA reserves the right to award without discussions. Technical questions shall be received not later than ten (10) days after release of the RFP. Technical questions should be sent to the Contracting Officers e-mail address or fax number contained herein. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code for this requirement is 54171.
