- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention contemplates issuing a cost reimbursement type contract to support the research, capacity building, and technical assistance activities of the National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion (NCCDPHP) by identifying, acquiring, and organizing the following: (1) Information on chronic disease prevention activities taking place in states, federal agencies, and voluntary organizations; (2) health promotion/health education program information and literature that emphasize methodology and application of (a) health promotion/health education interventions and activities aimed at preventing and controlling chronic diseases including cancer, diabetes mellitus, and cardiovascular disease and related risk factors such as tobacco use, physical inactivity, poor nutrition, etc.; (b) health education for reproductive health concerns such as adolescent pregnancy, maternal and infant health; (c) health education/promotion related to comprehensive school health; (d) health education/promotion/chronic disease prevention related to oral health; (e) other issues such as managed care, social marketing, and health communications as related to the prevention and control of chronic disease; (f) health education as part of overall health promotion programs; and (g) health education per se. The contemplated period of performance is 12 months, with four 12-month option periods, for a total anticipated period of performance of 60 months. The approximate release date of the RFP on the FedBizOpps Website (http://www.fedbizopps.gov) is on or about June 3, 2002. The RFP due date will be approximately 35 days after posting of the RFP. This is a follow-on contact; information about the current contract and the incumbent contractor will be provided in the RPF. THIS IS A 100% SMALL BUSINESS SET-ASIDE. The NAICS Code for this requirement is 541720, and the size standard is $6.0 million. NO TELEPHONE REQUESTS FOR THE SOLICITATION WILL BE ACCEPTED. There is no plan to mail out hard copies of the RFP.
