- Description
- The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR), Advance Deployable System TE-ISS Project(PMW183) intends to contract on a sole-source basis with Soil Machine Dynamics (SMD), Limited, of Newcastle upon Tyne, England for for the procurement of sea cable burial plow that represents a scaled down version of the proven SMD burial plow with on-board payload for use by the Navy?s TE-ISS. The procurement will include the steerable burial plow and optional docking head equipment that allows for sea-state four (4) handling and an optional remotely operated vehicle (ROV) mounted on the burial plow for making cable connections at depth. The TE-ISS is a subsystem for deploying and burying small diameter fiber optic cable on the sea floor. The estimated value of the effort is about $4,000,000. This will be awarded on a Firm Fixed Price Basis. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code for this procurement is 336999.
