- Description
- The Naval Inventory Control Point Philadelphia is seeking a limited development item for replacement of the existing Signal Data Recorder-Reproducer, RD-348A/ASH Digital Memory Unit and the USH-42 Video Recorder-Reproducer. This new item, called the Mass Memory Unit (MMU), will be installed on all S-3B aircraft. The MMU at a minimum will be required to down-load and up-load mission data programs as well as have the capability of recording two 2-hour tracks of video. The recording medium is to be a removable, solid-state, non-volatile memory card. The new system must meet a minimum 4,000 hours MTBF. Other pertinent performance factors delineated in the in the system specifications include electrical, thermal and dew condensation protection. The solicitation will use Trade-Off procedures and offerors will be required to submit technical and price proposals. Firm-fixed prices are requested on 124 units plus 4 units for Contractor and Government First Article testing. Anticipated award date is SEP2002 with delivery of FAT in 240 days and production units in 450 days.
