Description
THE USCG, MLCP,in Alameda, CA, proposes to contract for the Drydock and Repair of, USCGC MIDGETT, a 378'high endurance cutter, home moorage of Seattle, WA. Work will be performed during the period of 14 August through 8 October 2002. Work will include, Hull plating u/w body inspect, replacement of vertical stringers, sounding tube striker plate installation, propulsion shaft coating renewal, propulsion shafting removal, inspection and maintenance, controllable pitch propeller system maintenance, propeller clean and inspect, boiler blow piping replacement and overboard discharge piping relocation, rudder stock bearings check clearance, thruster unit hydraulic accumulators inspect and hydro test, anchor chain and ground tackle inspect and repair, anchor windlass level 2 inspect, void (accessible) preserve, hull plating, underwater body preserve (partial), rudder preservation (100%), ships laundry upgrade, temporary services and drydocking. On or about 15 days from issuance of this notice, a Request for Proposal (RFP), will be issued, in accordance with SBCDP. Contractor's facilities, must be located within 200 road miles of cutter's home moorage, Pier 36, Seattle, WA, to be considered responsive. For Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises, to acquire short-term working capital assistance for transportation related contracts, loans are available under the DOT short Term Lending Program (STLP) at the prime interest rate to provide accounts receivable financing.
