Description
This description is for the procurement and installation of an Optical Emission Spectrometer Spark Analyzer System for DSCC-TN, Product Testing Center-Mechanical East, located at Defense Depot Susquehanna Pennsylvania, Building 1 Bay 8, New Cumberland, PA. General Requirements: The System shall determine the chemical compositions of Steel, Aluminum, Nickel, Titanium and Copper base metals. The System shall include the Spark Analyzer, an external computer, printer and stand, small sample adapters and on-site installation and training. System Configuration and Performance Specifications: The System shall be designed to follow/conform to the most current test methods as defined in the following ASTMs or in-process rewrites of these specifications unless otherwise indicated in this specification. ASTM E415, Standard Test Method for Optical Emission Vacuum Spectrometric Analysis of Carbon and Low-Alloy Steel. ASTM E1086, Standard Test Method for Optical Emission Vacuum Spectrometric Analysis of Stainless Steel by the Point-to-Plane Excitation Technique. ASTM E1251, Standard Test Method for Optical Emission Spectrometric Analysis of Aluminum and Aluminum Alloys by Argon Atmosphere, Point-to-Plane, Unipolar Self-Initiating Capacitor Discharge. Analytical Channels The analyzer shall be designed to allow for up to nine matrices (base materials) and at least 96 analytical channels to be placed on the system. Multiple Optic Modules The analyzer shall have four ?-meter (750mm) focal length optical modules. This multiple optic design will not limit the number of elements that can be put on the system. This design shall allow only the analysis of 1st order light emission. No 2nd or 3rd order light shall be analyzed. The modules shall have a Paschen-Runge style optical mounting with a 750mm (3/4M) focal length (Rowland circle). Spark Stand The spark stand shall be designed to perform spark type analysis suitable for arc-spark optical emission spectroscopy. Spark Source Complete semiconductor controlled spark source with variable excitation/discharge parameters that are user definable and can be customized as per the application and/or program. Trade In (Optional) There can be a trade in of the existing SpectroLab M5. The M5 was purchased in 1992 and is in good operating condition for the analysis of Iron and Aluminum Bases. The contractor shall remove the existing equipment from the government facility at no cost to the government. The contractor shall pay for all removal, shipping and disposal charges. This is an unrestricted procurement. NAICS is 334519. Size standard ? 500 Employees. IMPORTANT NOTICE: DFARS 252.204-7004 "Required Central Contractor Registration" applies.
