Description
The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to enter into sole source negotiations and subsequently award a cost reimbursable contract to McDonnell Douglas Corp. (MDC), a Wholly Owned Subsidiary of the Boeing Company to (1) convert the Standoff Land Attack Missile- Expanded Response (SLAM-ER) Mission Planning Modules (MPM) to operate on the Joint Mission Planning System (JMPS) architecture; and, (2) to develop the Mission Computer Operational Flight Software (MCOFS) required to support F/A-18 software configuration revision 19C. (THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS). Unless otherwise stated herein, no additional written information is available. Request for the same will be disregarded. A determination by the Government not to compete this effort is solely within the discretion of the Government. GENERAL INFORMATION: McDonnell Douglas Corp. (MDC) is the sole designer, developer, manufacturer and integrator of the SLAM-ER weapon system and its related equipment. MDC alone has the experience, special skills, proprietary technical documentation, software/algorithms, facilities and manufacturing techniques required to produce, assemble and integrate this equipment and furnish the supplies and services within the required timeframe. Subcontracting opportunities may be available and should be sought with MDC at the following address: McDonnell Douglas Corp. Once NAVAIR finalizes its requirements for the subject effort, a prerequisite for receiving a contract award will be registration in the DODs Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database. There is no commitment by the Government to issue a solicitation, make an award or awards, or to be responsible for any monies expended by any interested parties before award of a contract for the effort mentioned above.
