- Description
- The National Institute of Standards & Technology (NIST)has a requirement for four wafers of superconducting quantum interference devices (SQUIDS). The goal of this work is to supply SQUID multiplexer chips, SQUID series array preamplifiers, and first stage input SQUIDS for use in our projects. The devices fabricated in this period will also be tested to provide feedback to our fabrication process. These devices are unique to, and designed at NIST, there are no similar replacements available as a stock item. This process needs to take place on NIST facilities as it will require that our devices work at 100 mK and because we need to have the fabrication performed here for process compatibility. It is also important that the recipient already be trained on the particular equipment in our clean room. It is the intent of the Government to award this procurement on a sole source basis under authority of 41 U.S.C.253(c)(1) with The university of Colorado, Physics Department with Dr. John Price. This procurement is being conducted per FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures (NTE $100,000). This synopsis is issued for information only. No competitive solicitation is planned. Information submitted in response to this notice will be used solely to determine whether or not use of competitive procedures to fulfill this requirement would be in the Government's best interest and must address qualifications pertinent to this requirement.
