- Description
- NASA/GRC plans to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) for NESSUS X.X merged code software. NASA/GRC intends to purchase the items from Southwest Research Institute (SwRI) ONLY. NESSUS X.X is a follow-on effort to combine the independent enhancements of the SwRI/NESSUS software into the NASA/NESSUS software. This sole source is pursuant to FAR Part 6.302-1(a)2ii. The Government does not intend to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. All interested, responsible organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on 5-13-02. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. This not a competitive announcement--it is a sole source announcement. Please DO NOT request a copy of the solicitation no solicitation will be issued as a direct result of this announcement. IF the government decides that this work will be competed, a competitive announcement and accompanying solicitation will be issued at that time. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. An Ombudsman has been appointed, See NASA Specific Note "B".
