Description
NA Construct a 2380 SM flight simulator facility consisting of a steel-framed structure with a common masonry veneer over a consrete masonry infill. The interior walls of the administrative core shall be gypsum board over metal studs. Walls shall be constructed to the roof deck and sound insulated as necessary for the requirements of the individual spaces contained therein. Suspended acoustical tile ceilings shall be provided throughout the core area, except for service rooms which shall receive suspended gypsum board ceilings or remain as exposed structure. Corridors and service areas shall receive tile floors. Classroom and offices shall have carpet tile. Vestibule and waiting areas will have a porcelain tile floor and recessed walk-off mats in the building entry. The roof will be a vaulted standing seam metal roof over metal decking, steel joists, and roof insulation. The interior walls of the simulator shall be concrete masonry. The simulator bay will have exposed roof structure and lighting with a minimum clear height of 50 feet. Remaining spaces in the simulator module will have suspended acoustical tile ceilings. The computer room will have an access floor system. The simulator bay, hydraulics rooms, and electrical maintenance spaces will have sealed concrete floors. The remaining spaces in the simulator module will have vinyl composition tile flooring. The majority of the spaces in the simulator module shall be covered with a low-slope 2-ply modified bitumen roof over roof insulation, steel decking, and steel joists. The simulator bay, and the hydraulic pump/maintenance rooms shall have single slope standing seam metal roof over steel decking, steel joists, and roof insulation. The mechanical features of the project will include HVAC, plumbing, wet pipe sprinkler system, and cooling of simulator support equipment. Heating will be with natural gas. Electrical load for the building will be approximately 1500 kVA with a service voltage of 480Y/277V, 3 phase, 4 wire. Total building load is approximately 2000A. Telephone and data service, both secure and non-secure lines, and lightning protection will also be provided. Fire detection and alarm system shall be compatible with the existing base-wide Kingfisher system and will report to the fire department via radio transmission. A security and access control system, and PA system will also be provided. Bituminous roadways, parking lot, and landscaping are included as options to the construction contract. Concrete sidewalks will also be included. This project is available on compact disk only. The drawing files are in CAL format and can be viewed, navigated, or printed using Source View Reader. Both readers are contained in the solicitation package. Minimum system requirements are: 486- based personal computer, Microsoft Windows 3.1 or greater, 8 MB application RAM, 4 MB hard disk space, and compact disk drive. This project is open to small and large businesses. Solicitation will be issued on or about 15 May 2002 and the bid opening on approximately 18 June 2002. The NAICS is 233320 for this project. Comments: All clarifications and questions during the bidding period shall be via e-mail or fax. E-mail is the preferred meth od and will result in quicker responses. Telephone questions will not be acceptable. The project will be advertised as a base-bid plus options.
