- NA The project consists of the construction of two off channel flood control detention basins. These basins are located in the Beargrass Creek watershed along South Fork Beargrass Creek and Buechel Branch in southeastern Jefferson County, Kentucky. This work primarily consists of, but is not limited to, excavation of earth materials, truck hauling operations to remove earth to spoil areas, constructing earth berms, outlet structures, concrete spillways, placement and compaction of fill at designated disposal sites, planting trees and seeding in accordance with the plans and specifications. Approximately 272,600 cubic yards of material will be excavated for construction of the Bashford Manor detention basin while an additional 33,400 cubic yards will be excavated for construction of the Hikes Lane detention basin. This project is available on compact disk only. Project specification files are Portable Document Format (PDF) files and can be viewed, navigated, or printed using Adobe Acrobat Reader. The drawing files are in CAL format and can be viewed, navigated, or printed using Source View Reader. Both readers are contained in the solicitation package. Minimum system requirements are: 486- based personal computer, Microsoft Windows 3.1 or greater, 8 MB application RAM, 4 MB hard disk space, and compact disk drive. This solicitation is to be issued on approximately 15 May 2002 with the bid opening on or about 18 June 2002. The NAICS for this project is 234990 $28,500,000.00. This project is set aside for 8a contractors who are certified by the Sm all Business Administration, Region IV. This will be an 8a competitive acquisition. This announcement serves as the advance notice for this project.
