- The reason for this announcement is to advertise a solicitation which was previously announced under the Commerce Business Daily (CBD). The Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) anticipates award of a Firm Fixed Price Construction contract for the renovation of the Food Service Area at the Metropolitan Correctional Center (MCC), Chicago, Illinois. The work consist of providing all labor and materials to perform renovation of existing 5,000 square foot food service area. Work consist of completion demolition of existing ceiling floor, equipment, plumbing, walls, sewer lines and electric with reconstruction and installation of new sewer lines flooring, walls, doors utilities, ceiling and sprinkler lines. All work shall be completed in accordance with specifications drawings and invitation for bid while maintaining compliance with all Federal, State and local laws and regulations. The solicitation packets WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE. The project completion time is 243 calendar days. The project is not set-aside for small business. A subcontracting plan will be required for lar businesses. There will be a non-refundable charge $254.00 for the plans, when they are available. Make checks payable to TapanAm Associates, Inc. Sealed Bidding Procedures will be used in awarding this contract. Insurance is required for the duration of the project, and the contractor will be required to submit a Certificate of Insurance. Work is to be performed in a correctional setting and the contractor and staff will be subject to background investigations and security procedures. See numbered note 26.
