- *This announcement fully replaces the FedBizOpps notice posted April 24, 2002. The National Marine Mammal Laboratory (NMML) of the Alaska Fisheries Science Center, National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS), NOAA is interested in contracting an aerial survey of harbor porpoise in the waters of Oregon, Washington, and part of British Columbia between 1 August - 15 September 2002. The survey effort in Canadian waters will aid in interpretation of potential changes in abundance that might be associated with shifts in distribution. In addition, a concurrent small boat survey will be conducted by NMML in the Washington inland waters from 12-25 Aug 2002 that will be coordinated with the contractor to occur simultaneously with the aerial survey in that region. A Request for Proposals (RFP) providing detailed technical and performance specifications and proposal instructions will be issued on or about May 13, 2002.
