Description

The project includes the addition of 1,900 s.f. of office space, a 4,100 s.f. visitors information center, and the renovation of 4,700 s.f. of existing office space including new electrical service and modifications to the septic system and the expansion of existing parking facilities. The period of performance for this project will be 365 calendar days and the contractor will be required to start work within 10 days after issuance of a notice to proceed. The project is located in Transylvania County, 40 miles south of Asheville, North Carolina. There will be a pre-bid meeting on June 4, 2002 at 1:00 EST at the Pisgah Ranger District Office. It is STRONGLY ENCOURAGED that all prospective bidders attend this meeting. THERE IS A $75 NON-REFUNDABLE CHARGE FOR THE SOLICITATION. The check must be received before the plans can be mailed. Make checks payable to USDA Forest Service, in remarks put EAZ-33-02-0033 and send to Eastern Administrative Zone Acquisition Group, Attn: Don Bailey, 160-A Zillicoa Street, Asheville, NC 28801-1082. ISSUE DATE: May 13, 2002. BIDS DUE: June 13, 2002 at 2:00 EST. The magnitude of construction for this project is between $1,000,000 and $2,500,000.
