Description
The Naval Air Warfare Center, Weapons Division, China Lake, CA intends to procure on an other than full and open competition basis the following items: 1) Motor/encoder assembly, 24 volt brush-less motor P/N CM-120-1024-NAW, 1024 count dual sine wave optical encoder output with 30 micro-radian positional accuracy. Shock-hardened to survive 12,000 g shock loads across the shaft plane (radial shock), grounded shield between the motor encoder, long ribbon cable, Qty 6. 2) One-time tooling charge for shock hardening (flex circuit, glass disk + mask, photocell, PCB and lamination). 3) Option after tooling to buy an additional 44 Motor/encoder assemblies. This requirement is sole sourced to Hathaway Computer Optical Products, Inc., 9174 Deering Ave., Chatsworth, CA. The Hathaway CM-120-1024-NAW motor/encoder assembly is the only one available on the market that is fully compatible with the existing Ball Joint Gimbal (BJG) motor controller interface electronic hardware. Any firms believing that they can provide the motor/encoder assembly may submit a written response to be received at the Contracting Office no later than 5 days after the date of publication of this notice, clearly showing it's ability to do so without compromising the quality, accuracy and reliability of the data or without causing programmatic hardship to the program.
